Overview
This service is being made available as part of Esri UK's COVID 19 Disaster Response Program
The inclusion of Ordnance Survey premium data is made available under the OS Mapping for Emergencies Programme. Data may be used in specific support of COVID-19 related activities, free of OS Licence Fees until 30th September 2020. The OS Mapping for Emergencies programme is designed to support the UK resilience community in moments of national emergency.
By requesting access to this service you are confirming that your use is to support your response to COVID-19 only. WHEN PROMPTED in the Additional Information section, please provide a short justification of why you need access to the service.
Esri UK may contact you to gather further information on your organisation to understand how you are using the service
This feature service has been created to aid in the identification of locations where additional measures may need to be considered to allow effective social distancing.
The data is best visualised alongside Ordnance Survey MasterMap data, a Vector tile service containing MasterMap data is available for use in relation to COVID 19 response and can be requested here.
This data provides an indication of the minimum width of Ordnance Survey MasterMap data classified as paths and roadside where the data indicates it is manmade. There are three categories symbolised within the data
- Blue - The feature has a minimum width that is 3 metres or greater
- Orange - The feature has a minimum width that is between 2 metres and 3 metres
- Red - The feature has a minimum width that is less than 2 metres
The model data does not include pedestrianised roads, nor does it imply suitability for pedestrians or public access, nor does it take account of other obstructions such as street furniture, changes of level or barriers such as walls or rails that may reduce the available space or impede pedestrian use. The accuracy of the model may vary especially in areas where features of different size connect, merge or pass close to each other or undergo changes in size or shape. It is recommended that physical inspection of areas is carried out before this data is used to inform localised decisions.
A guide for the use of the service can be found here
