Overview
The US Bus Stops with Accessibility Ratings data layer provides location and analysis of bus stops with associated imagery. Each bus stop is accurately located based upon position of signage. Six attributes are calculated for each bus stop, including:
- valid_curb: is there a curb at the edge of pavement
- has_shelter: presence of a shelter, an indicator of a modern accessible stop
- no_grass_strip: the absence of grass
- valid_pad_depth: is there sufficient unobstructed depth (8 ft) from curb for landing
- valid_pad_dist_to_sign: sufficient unobstructed room for pad within distance from sign
- clear_path: clear sidewalk (3 ft) from landing pad to exit stop in both directions
A compliancy rating is then assigned, with compliance being defined as attributes #1, #3, #4, #5 and #6 being true.
If applicable, an identifying asset ID can be attributed to each asset with an available image.
Analysis is based upon ground-based sensor data (LiDAR and 360-degree imagery).
