What you get when you purchase this dataset?

Purchase includes 12 months of access to two spatial data layers: one for species by U.S. Counties and one for species by 8-digit HUC watersheds. Each spatial data layer includes an associated table with species specific attributes.

Previous versions of this product included watershed and county distribution data for animal species provided by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, but they are not included in this version. Species with a last observed date older than 1970 or that are flagged as historic/extirpated in a watershed are excluded from this dataset. County and Watershed data is not currently available through NatureServe for District of Columbia, Delaware, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Puerto Rico, or any other U.S. territories. Data for these jurisdictions are not currently included either because there are not active Network Programs in these jurisdictions, or data cannot be shared with NatureServe. NatureServe is working to rectify these data gaps.
