Getting Started with GIS
Our Getting Started with GIS engagements are designed with inherent flexibility to meet the diverse requirements that are driving new users and stakeholders to geospatial technologies as a solution for the problems facing their organizations. We have developed a standardized process specifically designed for GIS rookies and can deploy it in three- or five-day engagements depending on the complexity of the requirement or needs of the organization.
Our standardized process begins with a thorough needs assessment with our corporate and technical leadership. The needs assessment will help us understand your organization’s mission and goals, requirements for GIS products and data, and current IT, Web and GIS capacity. Our needs assessment will walk you through your GIS software and management options and provide multiple options for implementing a right-sized solution. Once the needs assessment is complete one of our experienced GIS Developers or Analysts will sit down with your organization staff to get started developing the products, data, maps, apps, tools, and services determined in the needs assessment. Our standardized process also includes custom knowledge transfer products to be discussed during the needs assessment and provided to the organization after the initial products are created. Knowledge transfer products may include Standard Operating Procedures, Business Process Modeling, How-To-Videos, Workflow Diagrams or Documentation, and customized Individual or Group Training.
