Components with DM:

Anytime those components are on the webpage, the asset folder and assets associated with the components above need to be configured for Dynamic Media.

Here's how to configure the asset folder and assets for Dynamic Media:

  1. Navigate to the folder that contains your Dynamic Media images and open up the Properties
  2. In Properties, click on the Image Profiles tab
  3. Choose the Dynamic-Media profile name
  4. Save and close your folder properties
  5. Navigate back to the assets within your folder and click on the assets that need the Dynamic Media profile applied
  6. Once you've chosen your assets, click Create, then Workflow
  7. Select the DAM Update Asset Workflow and click Start
  8. Click Proceed to confirm you'd like to run that workflow
  9. (Re)publish your assets

Common issues you will run into if assets do not have the necessary DM configuration:

  • Images disappear on the page
  • Broken images with "null" in SiteImprove

Troubleshooting:

  • Image is in the content/dam - it shows up broken?
  • visit the URL for the image (view as published) -
    ex: https://www.esri.ca/is/image/esri/arcgisonline720x720:11w?wid=720&hei=720
  • if the URL above shows "unable to find image" or 404. remove everything after :
  • if the image shows up, then the directory that contains the image does not have the proper Image Profile. Add the profile, run workflow (Dynamic Media: Reprocess Assets) and then publish image(s)
