Under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) preparedness grants programs, the procurement of geographic information system (GIS) technology is listed as an eligible grant expense. As a reference, you can find GIS listed in the Authorized Equipment List (AEL) on FEMA.gov<\/a> (04AP-03-GISS \u2013 System, Geospatial Information). And if your GIS analyst’s time is directly tied to the activities listed in FEMA’s Fiscal Year 2024 Preparedness Grants Manual, their salary is also an eligible grant expense. This guidance is updated every fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n

Applicable FEMA preparedness grants include the following:<\/p>\n\n

–                Emergency Management Performance Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Homeland Security Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Tribal Homeland Security Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Emergency Operations Center Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Intercity Bus Security Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Intercity Passenger Rail<\/p>\n\n

–                Nonprofit Security Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Port Security Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Presidential Residence Protection Assistance Grant Program<\/p>\n\n

–                Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program<\/p>\n\n
