I\u2019d love to see scads of high quality HHS submission!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\">Here are some key things our reviewers look for:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\"><strong>1. Define the challenge you solved.<\/strong><br>What problem or need drove your GIS project? Framing the challenge helps the audience connect with your purpose.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\"><strong>2. Show its relevance.<\/strong><br>Does your topic align with an emerging theme such as <em>geospatial AI<\/em> or <em>health equity<\/em>? Or does it address a universal challenge such as <em>managing opioid settlement funds<\/em> or <em>improving disease surveillance<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\"><strong>3. Demonstrate repeatability.<\/strong><br>Can others learn from and apply your approach? Submissions with transferable lessons attract high interest and attendance.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\"><strong>4. Quantify the return on investment (ROI).<\/strong><br>Describe the value your work achieved \u2014 cost or time savings, improved accuracy, better services, or outcomes such as saving lives or improving well-being.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\"><strong>5. Share lessons learned.<\/strong><br>Your experiences \u2014 successes and challenges alike \u2014 help others advance their own programs.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\"><strong>6. Highlight innovation.<\/strong><br>Are you stretching the software or using GIS in a creative new way? Reviewers love fresh perspectives and technical ingenuity.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-focus-areas-for-health-and-human-services\">Focus Areas for Health and Human Services<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\">Abstracts that connect to Esri\u2019s key HHS focus areas are especially encouraged:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Environmental Health<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Preparedness and Response<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Accessibility<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Strategic Planning<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Humans in Crisis<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Health Equity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\">If your work supports any of these areas \u2014 from climate and community resilience to improving access to care \u2014 the Esri UC is the perfect platform to share it.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-submission-quality-matters\">Submission Quality Matters<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"undefined block-editor-paragraph\">A few reminders as you polish your abstract:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pay attention to spelling, grammar, and readability \u2014 clear writing counts.<\/li>\n\n<li>Focus on <strong>quality<\/strong>, not quantity. Submitting several abstracts won\u2019t improve your odds; strong, well-crafted ones will.<\/li>\n\n<li>Keep your content focused on how you\u2019ve applied <strong>Esri\u2019s GIS technology<\/strong> and related workflows. This helps reviewers understand how your work connects to the broader ArcGIS community.<\/li>\n\n<li>If you\u2019re a student or researcher, we welcome your participation! Keep in mind that Esri UC sessions tend to focus on <strong>applied work<\/strong> \u2014 so frame your abstract around practical implementations, repeatable workflows, reusable models and analytics, or measurable outcomes.
