Observability for your enterprise GIS deployments

ArcGIS Monitor enables observability for your ArcGIS Enterprise implementation by collecting metrics on system health, performance, and usage. In this sixth user group meeting, technical experts from Esri partners will share their experiences using ArcGIS Monitor. Cloudpoint Geospatial will provide strategies and tips for proactive management of an enterprise GIS, while dymaptic will discuss leveraging AI to extend ArcGIS Monitor.

    Virginia VanderVeen

    Senior Systems Engineer, Cloudpoint Geospatial

    Virginia VanderVeen is a senior systems engineer focused on ArcGIS Enterprise architecture and operations. With a background in municipal GIS, early experience included supporting public works as a GIS analyst for the City of Battle Creek, Michigan, and administering the city’s asset management system, Cityworks. At Cloudpoint, Virginia designs and manages ArcGIS Enterprise deployments across on-premises and cloud environments as well as ArcGIS Enterprise roles an extensions  such as ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Image Server, and ArcGIS Monitor. Current work centers on system administration and automation using PowerShell, Python, and SQL, bridging the gap between GIS and IT to deliver stable, scalable GIS platforms.

    As a child, Kevin Sadrak used to sit and read the CIA’s World Factbook—he thought the geographical information and fold-out maps were just fantastic. Fast-forward nearly 20 years—he is making maps, doing analysis, and teaching others GIS. From task automation, custom Google Earth integration, data warehouses, imagery collection, and mobile field maps, Kevin has built many systems over the years and looks forward to the next challenge.
