Making the World's Imagery Useful

Imagery Overview at UC

Attend UC and discover how remotely sensed information is making an impact across all industries, enabling decision-makers to see the world, find the patterns, and share results with others. The UC experience includes learning about Esri solutions for enterprise imagery management, imagery and raster data included with ArcGIS Online, and advanced image processing and analysis. Meet with imagery experts at the Imagery Island on the expo floor who can answer your questions and demonstrate techniques to create valuable geospatial data products.

As a provider or consumer of imagery, you can make the most out of your Esri User Conference experience by attending Imagery sessions and events. The variety of presentations, Esri technology demonstrations, moderated paper sessions and special interest groups will provide valuable insights for successful implementations using Esri technology for imagery.

Imagery@UC Schedule

0830: AM–09:45 AM
Imagery@UC Part 1: “I Had No Idea”–Overview of the extensive imagery capabilities

Most people are surprised to find how much imagery capabilities are built into the ArcGIS platform. This session will provide summary of the extensive imagery capabilities that ArcGIS has. The session will focus on showing examples of use cases and workflows for working with all forms of imagery from Satellites, Aerial, Drones & Terrestrial platforms to extract useful information. We will also look into how ArcGIS works with imagery and raster data such as Elevation, Categorical, Scientific, Oblique and Full Motion video. This session is a great introduction to the wide range of more focused imagery sessions during the UC. The session will also act as a intro to next session Imagery@UC Part 2: “What’s Next”- Vision of what’s to come.

Imagery@UC Part 2: “What’s Next”–Visions of what’s to come
Where is imagery heading? This session will provide insight into how the imagery and remote sensing landscape will change. Lawrie Jordan, Esri’s Director of Imagery and Remote Sensing will provide a vision of where imagery will be heading to in the next years. The session will then look at new techniques and capabilities that will be coming to the ArcGIS Platform. An opportunity will also be provided to ask questions to a panel of experts. This session follows Imagery@UC Part 1: “I Had No Idea”-Overview of the extensive imagery capabilities.
