The Restoration Barometer is a global initiative developed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to monitor and report progress on ecosystem and landscape restoration. Endorsed by more than 40 countries, the initiative has expanded from 5 pilot regions in 2016 to dozens of participating countries and regions worldwide. To support this international scale-up, arx iT designed and implemented a global geospatial reporting and monitoring platform based on Esri ArcGIS technologies. The solution provides participating countries and regions with an intuitive interface to collect, manage and report restoration data, while public interactive dashboards transform this information into clear indicators, maps and visualizations. Progress can be analyzed at country and regional levels and consolidated to provide a global view of ecosystem restoration efforts. The platform combines geospatial data management, data collection, interactive mapping, dashboards and reporting within a scalable GIS environment designed for international collaboration. This project demonstrates arx iT’s expertise in Esri ArcGIS, global GIS platforms, environmental monitoring, geospatial data management, interactive dashboards and the delivery of international multi-country geospatial solutions.
