Overview
Barr provides engineering and environmental consulting services to clients across North America and around the world. We have been employee owned since 1966 and trace our origins to the early 1900s. Our 1000 engineers, scientists, and technical specialists work together to help clients develop, manage, process, and restore natural resources. At Barr, we solve clients’ problems as if they were our own. We’ll bring to your projects the insights and expertise we've gained from our work on thousands of projects—and a promise to do our best work on your behalf. Barr’s project teams serve the power, mining, and fuels industries, natural-resource-management organizations, and others with complex problems. Our project sites range from iron-ore mines in South America to wind-power farms in South Dakota, from manufacturing facilities in California to oil-sands fields in Western Canada. Headquartered in Minneapolis, we also have offices in Duluth and Hibbing, Minnesota; Denver, Fort Collins, and Wheat Ridge, Colorado; Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, Michigan; Jefferson City, Missouri; Reno, Nevada; Bismarck, North Dakota; and Salt Lake City, Utah. Our Calgary, Alberta, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, offices operate under the name Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada, Ltd. In addition, we meet the needs of regional and national clients through satellite offices in Green River, Wyoming, and Fort McMurray, Alberta.
