The Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) approached Blue Raster to help them develop a new open data site. Users needed to be able to discover, map, and download NCES and Census datasets in a user friendly way. With the power of ArcGIS Open Data, Blue Raster developed a customized site that offers ready-to-use data, analytical mapping, charting capabilities, data filtering, histograms, and scatter plots. Moreover, GIS-users can download data in shapefiles and KMLs. Developers can find datasets for their applications and access them with the Esri GeoServices REST Spec or GeoJSON, and traditional download formats like excel spreadsheets are also supported.
