Blue Raster worked with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to build a unique mapping application revealing the global burden of malnutrition in all its forms. The interactive map transforms extensive tabular data into rich geographic visualizations, bringing the data to life in ways not possible in traditional reports. The map is divided into two main components. The Indicator tab, which allows users to select different individual indicators to view and compare globally. The Analyze tab allows users to select multiple variables simultaneously to analyze the multiple burdens of malnutrition. By providing new insights into the data, GAIN hopes to arm policy makers and governments with a deeper understanding of the nutritional challenges facing the world today.
