Featured at the White House "Rethink Discipline" Conference, this story map highlights trends in out of school suspension across the country. Since 2011, the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Justice have collected data on suspensions, expulsions, and other practices that remove students from instruction. To catalyze greater transparency and dialogue around alternative practices, ED turned to Blue Raster to create a series of maps to be shared on social media. This new resource enables anyone to visualize the impacts and prevalence of of out-of-school suspensions in their community.
