Called GRAIL (Geographic Reporting and Information Locator), the application is a fibre network design tool, allowing Network Designers to create geospatially correct fibre designs. GRAIL allows a Network Designer to input a fibre lay plan. From the lay plan Network Designers run customised tools to produce the required schematical plans such as Fibre Optic Grid, Tubing, Hauling and Cabinet detail plans. The tool also produces Bill of Materials and Bill of Quanitites reports. All of this is controlled via the workflow manager, ensuring that the correct process, approvals, templates and maps are used, which also means Network Designers can focus on being designers, rather than GIS experts.
