Dymaptic is a woman-owned software consulting and development firm headquartered in Portland, OR with a focus on GIS software and technology. Although we are a small company, we have assembled a team with decades of proven experience in all aspects of project management, software engineering, and systems implementation across a broad range of technologies.
Our experience, attention to detail, and laser-focus on customer success have allowed us to, in a short time, compile a long list of satisfied clients and successful projects. Among our customers, we count many different types of organizations, including non-profits, Fortune 500 companies, and large municipal governments.
At dymaptic, we have a wide variety of technical and industry-specific skillsets. When we take on a new project, we approach it with a top-down perspective, whereby we analyze the problem the customer needs resolved at a high level and then progressively drill into what addressing those needs entails. As we delve into the problem at hand, our array of expertises allows us to rapidly distill what is oftentimes a broad set of needs into a well-defined project roadmap with discovery, design, implementation, testing, and rollout phases.
Although we at dymaptic consider ourselves a GIS software development firm first and foremost, we do not solely rely on custom solutions. We know that there is a wide variety of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software available that, in many cases, will do exactly what the customer needs. We happily recommend such software to the customer and will help them implement the selected third-party solution to the degree necessary. Other times, we find that a third-party product will meet many of the customer’s requirements, but will still require some manner of customization to address shortcomings in the product itself or very commonly, to build a bridge between the COTS product and existing systems. In those instances, our deep understanding of software and systems enables us to not only identify and help implement an appropriate COTS product, but to also make it function for our customer in just the way they want.
