Ferber Engineering Company, Inc. (FEC) was founded in 1991 as a civil engineering consulting firm specializing in water resources, transportation, utilities and land surveying. As computing technology advanced, Ferber Engineering Company, Inc. recognized GIS as a tool that could greatly enhance clients’ and its own workflows, processes and decision-making capabilities. GIS has been incorporated into the Company’s daily workflows and is relied upon heavily for surveying, design, construction administration and analysis. Because Ferber Engineering Company, Inc. has been so proactive in partnering GIS with its engineering and surveying services, it expanded its services to also offer GIS-specific expertise. Armed with a robust knowledge of GIS technology, FEC staff are able to apply tools and skills to a wide variety of private and public sectors. FEC understands that each client's projects and needs are unique. That is why FEC takes pride in providing a high-level of individualized service to each client ensuring that the most innovative and cost-effective solution is achieved in a timely manner.

Because FEC is a full-service AEC firm progressively applying GIS to projects for many years, they have been a leader in implementing GIS and geospatial technology throughout the AEC project lifecycle. From planning and public involvement (Story Maps and web visualizations) to high-accuracy field data collection (ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Site Scan), engineering design (Autodesk and Esri integration), inspections (Survey123 and ArcGIS Collector), and as-built condition capture for continued operations and maintenance (terrestrial and mobile imaging, scanning, BIM model integration, and digital twin creation), FEC is ready to help. FEC is also experienced in helping organizations of all sizes evaluate how GIS can add efficiency and effectiveness to their missions. Needs assessments, hardware and software audits, workflow analyses, database development, legacy data conversion, and custom training (e.g. migration to ArcGIS Pro) are just a few of the tools used to achieve these goals. From small organizations working with ArcGIS Online to larger organizations with full ArcGIS enterprise deployments (on-site and in the cloud), FEC prides itself in partnering long-term to ensure these customer’s ever-changing needs are met and that they are equipped for continued success. FEC team members hold advanced degrees and credentials including GISP certification, land surveying licensure, professional engineering licensure, CFM certification, and FAA Part 107 certification.
