GovWell’s mission is to build modern software products to help governments serve communities better. Our mission is personal for us. Ben Cohen, Co-Founder and CTO, grew up helping his father — a general contractor — to apply for hundreds of construction permits. Ben’s frustrating experiences navigating clunky portals inspired him to build better solutions for local governments and the millions of tradespeople whose livelihoods depend on government services. Founded in 2023 in New York City, GovWell’s platform powers critical services for 60+ municipalities & counties in 27 states, comprising over 1M residents. Additionally, more than 60% of our team has experience working in or with government.
