IsoPlan is a web based tool for both Planners and Public, and provides a powerful tool for displaying and interrogating planning rules. By linking Rules to GIS, we can also provide a property based plan. This can condense a complex 1000 page document to around 200 pages. Add to this the ability to ask questions on zoning rules, such as “I want to build a garage”, or “I want to subdivide my property”, IsoPlan has all the answers. On the planners side, we have a fully featured maintenance tool (essentially a content management system tailored towards plans and zoning rules) that allows planners to draft and maintain their planning rules, track changes, add supporting information and a lot more. IsoPlan replaces the paper based system that many councils use (which is inherently difficult to maintain consistent versions), by providing a single source of truth. The benefits of using IsoPlan are:- • Improved public access to complex planning documents and zoning rules • Reduced admin costs for council planning staff • Consistent version control • Speed of access to plan updates to council staff, consultants, and the public • Utilising existing GIS plan layers for more than just zoning maps IsoPlan runs on ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online and is available as both an On Premise solution, or Software as a Service.
