KCI partnered with the public safety firm Mission Critical Partners to support the National Capital Region Geospatial Data Exchange (GDX). GDX focuses on situational awareness and preparedness support for the public safety community at the local, state, and federal coordination levels. Core to the effort are consolidated regional minimum essential GIS datasets aggregate by GeoEvent Server. These include near-realtime fire and rescue unit locations and status, 911 calls, and member-contributed incident and response layers. Additional datasets and applications support Next Generation 9-1-1 collaboration across the region and food distribution sites. KCI facilitates the development of governance processes, provides stakeholder outreach, performs periodic training, provides help desk support, and supports and maintains the ArcGIS Online and high-availability Azure cloud hosting environment.
