Overview

KRS Environmental Consulting is a San Diego-based forestry and geospatial consulting firm providing applied forestry services backed by research-grade expertise. Led by a California Registered Professional Forester and ISA-qualified arborist, KRS supports Tribal Nations, public agencies, engineering teams, conservation organizations, and institutional land managers throughout Southern California, with remote-sensing projects nationwide. KRS combines field forestry, GNSS-controlled drone mapping, multispectral imagery, and Esri ArcGIS Pro to assess forest health, monitor restoration and treatment response, and document landscape change. ArcGIS-based workflows integrate individual-tree canopy mapping, vegetation indices, terrain and site attributes, field measurements, and treatment histories into repeatable, tree-level records. Through its Physio-Spatial Monitoring Program (PSMP), KRS helps clients evaluate oak woodland and chaparral conditions, track canopy changes through time, and support defensible stewardship decisions. Services also include project-scale tree and vegetation assessment following wildfire, storms, erosion, and other landscape hazards.

Overview:

KRS Environmental Consulting provides applied forestry, GIS, and remote-sensing services for Tribal Nations, public agencies, engineering firms, conservation organizations, and institutional land managers. Led by a California Registered Professional Forester, KRS uses Esri ArcGIS Pro to develop geospatial databases, perform spatial analysis, manage field observations, and produce mapping and reporting deliverables. Services include forest health assessment, individual-tree canopy mapping, forest inventory, vegetation change detection, treatment effectiveness monitoring, and post-fire or storm recovery assessment. KRS integrates high-resolution RGB and multispectral UAV imagery, GNSS survey control, terrain models, vegetation indices (NDVI, NDRE, EVI), and traditional forestry measurements into GIS workflows. Its proprietary Physio-Spatial Monitoring Program (PSMP) combines individual-tree records, site characteristics, treatment histories, and repeated observations to support long-term forest monitoring and adaptive management. KRS also develops customized geospatial workflows using ArcGIS Pro, ENVI, Pix4D, and R to produce defensible, repeatable datasets and project-specific analytical deliverables.
