Overview

North Arrow specializes in creating interactive maps and map-powered tools that help changemakers amplify their impact. We partner with nonprofits, foundations, and social impact organizations to turn data into compelling visual stories and actionable insights. Our services—custom maps, dashboards, and interactive storymaps—are designed to boost fundraising, drive advocacy, and support data-driven strategies. We believe social impact organizations deserve the same powerful data tools as the for-profit sector. Co-founded by Dr. Olivia Ildefonso, a seasoned nonprofit researcher, and Charles Grosperrin, a tech startup product manager, our mission is to bridge the data capacity gap and empower organizations to scale their impact.

Overview:

We support nonprofits as data partners and provide a range of services aimed at leveraging data visualization and mapping to bolster nonprofits’ communication, fundraising & strategic planning. As such, we audit data, prioritize use cases, build GIS applications and train team on how to optimize their usage. Two of our most popular services are: - Geospatial Intelligence Hubs: ArcGIS Dashboards or Experiences that centralize all of the data that is important to a nonprofit’s decision-making, including their program and beneficiary data (e.g., program locations, impact, community needs) and public data (e.g., Census, health, education). These dashboards enable data-driven insights for operations, program expansion, fundraising strategy, and coalition building. - Interactive Impact Tours: ArcGIS StoryMaps that showcase a nonprofit’s impact through maps, custom graphics, and multimedia content. These interactive tours replace annual reports and appeals and offer a fresh and captivating way to inspire new supporters. While increasing fundraising, they also reduce overhead, as they are much easier to update than traditional reports.
