Description:
The combination of Geodesign principles and GIS-based tools has played an important role in shaping the forthcoming updated Menlo Park General Plan. To better understand what type and scale of growth could benefit the community, an online survey was created using the combination of GIS and Geodesign. Participants were able to compare the effects of growth-related factors such as potential water use and traffic congestion with benefits such as revenue generation on a parcel-by-parcel basis. Developed on the GeoPlanner platform the application served as an analysis tool that focused on Land Use Policy changes and there impacts on key demographics and community indicators. • Key Features Include; • Land Use Performance Metrics • Scenario Sketching • Sea-Level Rise Impacts Assessment of Scenarios • Mitigate impacts (Sketch Planning)
