Overview
SUNFISH, a user-friendly and person-portable Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) with field-proven Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). The AUV was designed to explore an ocean hidden beneath more than 15 km of ice and autonomously gather data from the alien planet. SUNFISH addresses many challenges of autonomous exploration in complex environments. The AUV is designed to operate in a wide variety of undersea environments, ranging from man-made (e.g., piers or harbors) to natural (e.g., reefs or caves). SUNFISH is able to carry out exceedingly difficult, precision underwater tasks.
