Overview
Waldo GIS LLC publishes Waldo for ArcGIS Pro, a desktop add-in that puts an AI assistant directly inside ArcGIS Pro. Analysts direct their live Pro session in plain language - building maps, running geoprocessing and spatial analysis, applying symbology and labeling, and producing print-ready layouts - with every geoprocessing run reported in full parameter receipts for transparency and repeatability. Built on the ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET and arcpy, Waldo operates the user's open Pro session through 160+ purpose-built tools spanning layer management, symbology, labeling, charts, geoprocessing, and layout export. A read-only Ask mode supports guidance, tool discovery, and learning without changing the project. Customers bring their own AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI API key, or a fully local model), so project data never leaves the user's Pro session and stays under the customer's control. Waldo deepens customers' investment in ArcGIS Pro by making its full analytical and cartographic capability accessible in plain language - an extension of the platform, not a replacement. Founded in 2026 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, by a university GIS instructor with 30 years of GIS experience, Waldo GIS serves GIS analysts in consulting, state and local government, and education.
