Waldo GIS LLC

Fredericksburg, VA, United States

Overview

Waldo GIS LLC publishes Waldo for ArcGIS Pro, a desktop add-in that puts an AI assistant directly inside ArcGIS Pro. Analysts direct their live Pro session in plain language - building maps, running geoprocessing and spatial analysis, applying symbology and labeling, and producing print-ready layouts - with every geoprocessing run reported in full parameter receipts for transparency and repeatability. Built on the ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET and arcpy, Waldo operates the user's open Pro session through 160+ purpose-built tools spanning layer management, symbology, labeling, charts, geoprocessing, and layout export. A read-only Ask mode supports guidance, tool discovery, and learning without changing the project. Customers bring their own AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI API key, or a fully local model), so project data never leaves the user's Pro session and stays under the customer's control. Waldo deepens customers' investment in ArcGIS Pro by making its full analytical and cartographic capability accessible in plain language - an extension of the platform, not a replacement. Founded in 2026 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, by a university GIS instructor with 30 years of GIS experience, Waldo GIS serves GIS analysts in consulting, state and local government, and education. Free 7-day trial and free read-only mode at https://waldogis.com.

Services

Overview:

Waldo GIS is a software publisher first: our offering is Waldo for ArcGIS Pro, a packaged add-in available with a free trial at https://waldogis.com, not custom development engagements. Services are offered around the product. Application development: Waldo itself is built on the ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET and arcpy, and we work with customers to fit the assistant into their existing ArcGIS Pro workflows, data, and geoprocessing practices. Training: our founder has 30 years of GIS experience and teaches GIS at the university level; we offer training on effective AI-assisted analysis in ArcGIS Pro - prompt patterns for spatial analysis, cartographic production, and quality control of AI-driven geoprocessing - for teams adopting Waldo and for GIS programs in education. Recurring industry focus: GIS consulting, state and local government, and higher education, matching our product's audience.
