WDI's GIS Conflation service spatially aligns utility network assets to a current, accurate land base — correcting positional errors, resolving asset-to-land base mismatches, and delivering the spatial accuracy that field operations, permitting, ADMS, and vegetation management programmes depend on. Conflation is one of WDI's longest-established and highest-volume capabilities. To date, WDI has adjusted more than 400 million coordinates across electric, gas, and telecom networks in North America — servicing Esri, GE Smallworld, and G/Tech GIS platforms. Service scope includes: • Large-scale land base conflation — aligning utility assets to current aerial imagery, parcels, and road centreline data • Overhead and underground network conflation for mismatched or historically inaccurate assets • Asset-to-land base alignment supporting permitting, inspections, and vegetation management • Conflation in preparation for ArcGIS Utility Network migration and ADMS deployment • Network connectivity preservation throughout the conflation process • GIS freeze period minimisation through structured, phased delivery • QA/QC validation confirming spatial accuracy and connectivity post-conflation WDI's conflation methodology maintains full network topology and connectivity throughout — preserving the integrity of the GIS model while delivering the land base alignment the network requires.
