Esri Passes Oracle Spatial Integration Test

As part of Esri's continued commitment to interoperability provided through the Open GIS Consortium's Simple Feature Specification for SQL, Esri and Oracle recently jointly tested Esri's software with Oracle Spatial. The results of the tests were that Esri's software passed all of Oracle's tests for vendor integration with Oracle8i Spatial.

Passing Oracle's integration tests means that Esri's scalable family of GIS software is fully compliant with Oracle 8i Enterprise and Oracle Spatial 8.1.6. Esri software tested with Oracle Spatial included ArcInfo 8.0.2, Esri's enterprise GIS system; ArcIMS 3.0, Esri's new Internet Map Server software; ArcSDE 8.0.2, Esri's DBMS gateway technology; and ArcView GIS 3.2, Esri's robust desktop GIS application.

"Esri is committed to providing the best data management support possible," says Keith Ryden, manager of the ArcSDE development team. "We've worked closely with Oracle to ensure the best possible integration with the Oracle Spatial product. That our GIS software passed Oracle's tests for integration with Oracle Spatial is further evidence of that commitment."
