Swedish Armed Forces and Esri Sweden Agree on Terms

GeoPres Maintenance and Development

Swedish Armed Forces (SAF) and Esri Sweden signed an agreement over the technical maintenance and future development of GeoPres, an extension product for Esri's GIS software that enhances symbols management and geographical data grouping.

GeoPres was developed by SAF to supplement ArcView GIS and MapObjects software and includes special functions for map and symbol handling. Overlays and backdrop maps can be easily added using GeoPres for ArcView GIS, while GeoPres API for MapObjects expands that software's capabilities.

According to the agreement, Esri Sweden will assume responsibility for maintaining and developing GeoPres components and applications. Esri Sweden will also provide SAF with technical support and future development of the GeoPres concept.

GeoPres was designed to promote interoperability in heterogeneous organizations such as the military, police, local government, and civil defense.
