Multidisciplinary Team Develops Sarajevo Site Plan

During the summer of 2000, the Global Network for Rebuilding participated in an international design competition to develop a site plan for a crucial area of urban Sarajevo.

The Sarajevo project allowed designers to practice new ways to interact in social and economic development planning. Lessons learned are taking the Global Network for Rebuilding one step closer to its goal of creating a rapid response team able to deliver design aid to devastated communities anywhere in the world.

Software and training provided two years ago by Esri and GISDATA is presently used for the only municipal GIS in Bosnia.
