Esri-Bulgaria Newest Member of the FamilyGIS Invest, Esri's distributor in Bulgaria, recently reorganized into two new companies: Esri-Bulgaria Ltd. and GIS IN Ltd. The first will act as the exclusive distributor of Esri's GIS software in Bulgaria, while the other will focus on GIS application development and implementation. The two new companies have staffs of highly qualified experts, who are pioneers in the development and implementation of GIS technology in Bulgaria. Data published in the "Bulgarian IT White Papers" shows that Esri-Bulgaria holds 70 percent of the Bulgarian GIS market. Esri-Bulgaria's customers are primarily government institutions including the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, National Statistical Institute, and Bulgarian Telecom. Some of Esri-Bulgaria's biggest customers among private companies are in the telecommunications field. Other major clients are large municipalities including Sofia, Warna, and Burgas.
