Achieve Better Quality and Greater Volume of Map ProductsAnnouncing Maplex 3.4Esri is pleased to announce a new version of Maplex, its automated text placement and cartographic design software. Maplex 3.4 adds a number of key enhancements that will benefit the Maplex user community at large. Maplex 3.4 includes automatic street index generation, Guide to Numbered Features (for use with VPF data), symbology masking for overlaying text, direct read of DGN files, and custom fill and line patterns. In addition to these user productivity enhancements, the quality of placement has been improved for U.S.-style street mapping and parcel mapping. "The Maplex team spent a great deal of time making the software fit seamlessly into existing automated production systems," says Clark Swinehart, Maplex product manager, Esri.
