URISA Heads to California

The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is busy preparing for its 39th Annual Conference and Exposition. The event will take place October 20-24, 2001, at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Local and state government GIS professionals have been flocking to the URISA Conference for nearly four decades to learn and share information about improving the delivery and quality of government services through the application of information technology.

The three-day educational program, preceded by two days of preconference workshops, is developed from abstract submissions and organized by URISA members serving on the Program Committee.

Program tracks in this year's conference include such topics as

• People: Management/Policy/Resources
