E&S Announces New ArcView 3D Analyst Extension

Esri and Evans & Sutherland (E&S), an Esri Business Partner, of Salt Lake City, Utah, have combined their 3D GIS technologies to develop RAPIDsite Producer, a dramatic new software extension to ArcView 3D Analyst.

RAPIDsite Producer from E&S enables users of ArcView 3D Analyst software to create photorealistic 3D site visualizations from their cartographic site data, increasing its realism, credibility, and impact. With RAPIDsite Producer, GIS professionals can now "walk," "drive," or "fly" their audience interactively through a photorealistic visualization of their 3D site data, making it understandable to everyone.

"Recently, we tried out RAPIDsite Producer to visualize the placement of a new building planned for our Redlands campus. I was able to move the buildings and structures around on the site quickly. RAPIDsite Producer reads TINs, GRID, and shapefiles from ArcView 3D Analyst, plus aerial or satellite orthoimages.
