Esri's Grant Assistance Program (GAP) at www.esri.com/grants is rolling out some exciting changes that will help geographic information system (GIS) users find funding for their projects.
GAP is a free program that helps GIS users find the best grants to suit their needs and assist with their grant applications.
In the past, GAP primarily worked as a grant notification service. GIS users received e-mails about grants that became available for their interest areas. Rather than sending notifications, GAP will now help people with customized grant searches. Users can request information on the grants that most suit their organization and its needs. They will receive personalized attention, obtaining a customized funding solutions report that includes information on grants that are most appropriate for their projects and details about free services to help them apply for grants.
Our updated Web site will also feature many helpful resources about the process of finding funding and applying for grants including tips and links to various federal grant program Web sites and tutorials. GIS users can browse through information about the free services Esri provides with this program, how to get started in the grant process, and key factors in finding the right grant and writing a successful application.
Once customers have chosen a grant for which they will apply, they can gain additional assistance from Esri during the application process. GAP can help tailor a project to grant requirements, giving users the best chance for success.
GAP will have a Grants Program Island at the 2007 Esri International User Conference, which will be held June 1822, 2007, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. The GAP coordinator will be available to meet with customers about the program and their projects June 1921 at the island, which will be located near the Technical Support Island in the Esri Showcase area of the Exhibit Pavilion.
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about grants in your area of interest and discuss your needs directly with the coordinator.
The Grants Program Island will be open June 1920 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and June 21 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
