ArcGIS Explorer Desktop is a free viewer that gives you an easy way to explore, visualize, and share GIS information.
A built-in presentation tool helps you get your point across by using interactive maps. You can pull in live data and services (such as traffic and weather) that help tell your story.
Put photos, videos, and documents on your map. You can also add data such as geodatabases, shapefiles, KML/KMZ, GPX, and raster formats.
3D can give you insights that you might miss in 2D. For example, you can get a better view of the impact of a new building's shadow on the landscape or assess the visibility of flight paths. ArcGIS Explorer Desktop lets you quickly switch between 2D and 3D.
Give your information proper context. Select from a variety of ArcGIS Online basemaps such as World Imagery, World Streets, or World Topographic Maps. You can also create your own basemaps and add them to the Gallery. Switch basemaps on the fly without affecting the rest of the map.
