Global Crisis Hubs - Source Verification Process

In the wake of recent global events, customers have been utilizing the Esri Disaster Response Program extensively which delivers critical information to the public.  This includes the Esri COVID-19 Hub.  As a result, geospatial information was actively being utilized to exploit individuals, organizations and nations with malware and misinformation.  To address this, Disaster Response and Software Security & Privacy work diligently with industry leaders to identify recognized entities appropriate for a HUB.   Our team has enhanced our external source vetting process to ensure data sources shared on our Hub site are provided with a high level of assurance of accuracy and are provided by reputable sources.

To align with other technical companies by providing better assurance to our customers, we require that only recognized entities be featured on Esri’s COVID-19 Hub.   These recognized entities include Federal, State, and local county/city agencies, Health-focused NGOs , Medical and Educational institutions and private companies who are deeply credentialed in health issues.

To begin the process of publishing content for public view on the Esri Hub Sites, please submit your work to Esri here.

Featured applications are displayed on the main page of the Esri hub while they are timely and relevant.  General applications are additional customer provided information sets available on the Esri hub.  Featured applications have additional requirements to ensure information posted is accurate and factual and is provided by reputable sources.  Exceptions that do not meet these requirements may be requested on a case by case basis. Exceptions must be coordinated with the Esri Software Security & Privacy team for proper vetting.
