What's new in ArcGIS Maritime (Spring 2026)

By Krista Carlson

Capabilities for producing nautical chart products with ArcGIS Maritime continue to grow with the release of ArcGIS Pro 3.7 and ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1. These releases feature new tools and enhancements that provide increased support for co-production, support for more S-100 standards, automated exchange set generation, and improved Zone of Confidence diagrams. Read ahead for details on these developments and more.

ArcGIS Maritime for ArcGIS Pro 3.7

With this release of ArcGIS Pro you’ll find that that you can do more with several maritime key tools that have added functionality, along with several new tools that can improve data management and expand the range of products you can work with.

Key enhancements for S-100 tools and support

As hydrographic organizations move into S-100 implementation, we continue to expand ArcGIS capabilities to produce and manage S-100 products. To further support co-production (also known as dual fuel) and what you can do with S-100 products, two geoprocessing tools in the S-100 toolset have been enhanced. First, when you use the Import S-100 Cell tool, you now have the option to create an S-57 product with it, enabling you to produce chart products for both standards simultaneously.

For the Export S-101 Cell tool there are several new pieces of functionality: Exchange sets are now included automatically with exports; you can turn this function off by checking the Suppress Exchange Set check box. You can also create sample S-101 products with the new Sample Export check box.

New S-100 Set Scale Band tools to filter map content by desired scale ranges are now available. Similar to the S-57 Set Scale Band tools, you can choose high and low values from a drop-down list of preset values, or enter custom values in the combo boxes, and append the filter with additional scale band queries. These tools can be accessed from the Maritime S-100 tab when S-100 data is added to a map.

S-101 schema updates were also made to enable labeling by depth and eliminate the need to manage sounding groups. Both Soundings and DepthNoBottomFound features were revised from multipoint to point features.

Support for S-131 Marine Harbour Infrastructure production was also added to this release. The Export S-131 Product tool has been added to the S-100 GML Tools toolbox found in the ArcGIS Maritime product files, and the Import S-100 Product tool now supports ingesting S-131 products from S-100 exchange catalogues. Additionally, we’ve included the S-131 feature catalog in XML and interactive HTML formats for easy reference of the S-131 specification.

IENC production capability has been extended to version 2.6 with the introduction of new schema and support files. These new configurations of IENC are available in the product files, along with prior versions.

ZOC diagrams get a makeover

You can make your ZOC diagrams pop with this latest update for paper charts. You now have two options for creating Zones of Confidence (ZOC) diagrams: You can still create a diagram with zones defined by outlines and annotation or you can use the Create Color Filled ZOC Diagram tool and corresponding layer file to create a diagram with color-coded zones. Both tools are provided in the Paper Charting toolbox provided with the ArcGIS Maritime product files.

ArcGIS Maritime server

In ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1, the ArcGIS Maritime server extension brings enhancements to the Lua scripts that improve chart display in Maritime Chart Service. These enhancements include improved cartographic offset options for feature objects and better label prioritization that reduces conflicts when labels are drawn.

AML 3.0

Support for the AML Presentation Library 3.0.0 is now available. This addition includes three new ViewOverGroups dedicated to this version. Updates to the S-62 agency list through April 3, 2026, are also available in ArcGIS Maritime 12.1.
