Retirement of alpha and beta versions of Esri Vector Tile Basemaps

Whats new in Esri Vector Basemaps

Esri is continuing the final phase of the product life cycle to fully retire the early editions of vector tile basemaps. These versions of the services were made available during the early releases of Esri Vector tile basemaps. These services entered Mature Support between early 2016 and the beginning of 2018. Their items in ArcGIS Online were tagged as “Deprecated” when they entered Mature Support. All updates to those services stopped when they entered Mature Support.

These services will be fully retired on December 31, 2020.

All users should use the current release of vector basemaps, otherwise known as version two – V2. Please reach out to your colleagues and remind them of the need to update their webmaps, and apps to use the current release of vector basemaps. For any questions or concerns, please contact @Robert Jensen

Below is the list of services impacted by this change, and the recommended replacement service.
