Introducing the AI Assistant (Beta) on Esri.com

By Esri Digital Experience

AI is reshaping how people explore information, evaluate products, and make decisions. At Esri, we’ve been thinking carefully about what that means for esri.com and how to bring AI into the experience in a way that genuinely helps. Today, we’re introducing the AI assistant, now available in beta, and we’d love for you to try it.

What Is the AI assistant (beta)?

The AI assistant (beta) is an AI-powered companion for esri.com. You can ask it a question in plain language about Esri products, capabilities and use cases, and it will give you a clear, helpful answer and point you toward what to explore next.

How Does It Fit with Esri’s Other AI Tools?

Since 2024, Esri has been introducing AI experiences on esri.com to help you use ArcGIS products effectively. Some assistants are available directly in the product and currently, there are three distinct AI assistants on esri.com that complement each other:

AI Assistant What It’s For
AI assistant (beta) Provides information about Esri’s full product portfolio and capabilities across esri.com
Esri Support AI Chatbot Assists with specific technical support issues
Documentation assistant (beta) Helps navigate ArcGIS product documentation

What the AI assistant (beta) Can Do

  • Answer questions about Esri products and what they do
  • Compare solutions for different industries, roles, and use cases
  • Surface relevant resources and help you identify your next step
  • Help you find information from anywhere on esri.com
Icons indicating that the separate AI experiences will become one in the future.

What It Can’t Do (So Far)

The AI assistant is built for discovery, not troubleshooting. If you need technical help, the Esri Support site is your best resource. If you have account questions, your account team is the right call. And while chatting with a live agent isn’t available yet, it’s on our roadmap. In the future, these all of these things are expected to be available in one experience.

Something to note is the assistant is currently optimized and launching for desktop use only, but we expect it to be responsive on mobile devices by the end of the year.

Limited Launch: Beta Phase

We have learned the best AI experiences are built with real users in the loop. Introducing the assistant in beta lets us learn from the people who use it most. Your feedback about what works, what doesn’t and what you wish it could do will directly shape how the assistant evolves. In support of this, the AI assistant (beta) is only available on one web page to start.

Try It Today

The Esri AI Assistant is available now on esri.com. No sign-in required to get started. And please share your feedback as we’re relying on you to help us improve this experience.
