The ArcGIS Web Editor June update includes enhancements and new functionality throughout the software, such as a new ArcGIS Instant Apps template, the capability to calculate fields, and access to shared templates.
Let’s explore the highlights of this update.
____________
Web Editor (Beta) Instant Apps Template
We’re excited to introduce the Web Editor (Beta) Instant Apps template — a powerful tool designed to simplify and streamline data editing workflows for both GIS professionals and non-GIS users alike.
With this template, you can create a tailored version of the Web Editor application, enabling focused, efficient editing experiences. Whether you’re managing spatial data or supporting field teams, the Web Editor helps you configure the right tools for the job.
Get Started
To use the Web Editor template, you’ll need a web map that includes at least one editable feature layer. You can access the template from the Instant Apps home page or directly within the Web Editor interface.

____________
Calculate Fields
Field calculations allow the hosted feature layer owner or organization administrator to alter the values of every row for a single field in the attribute table of a layer.
Users can calculate an attribute field on a hosted table or hosted layer using the calculate field window.
You have two options when writing calculation expressions on fields in a hosted feature layer:

____________
Shared Templates
Editing templates contain tools and settings for creating features in a feature database. They also specify the target data source and the feature attribute values applied to features, and store optional descriptive metadata.
There are two ways to access editing templates in ArcGIS Web Editor:
- Feature templates are stored in the feature service or shared editing templates hosted in ArcGIS Online.
- Shared editing templates include group and preset templates.

____________
Create A Record In a Table
You can add a record to a table containing spatial or non-spatial features.
Non-spatial tables have no geometry information. They store descriptive information, but because they do not store a geographical component, features cannot be drawn on a map.
When you create a record in a table, any forms you configured in Map Viewer or Field Maps Designer will appear in Web Editor.
____________
Show A Table
Web Editor supports opening and viewing tables for subtype group layer sublayers.
Showing tables can be a useful way to see the information associated with the feature and table layers in a map.
