From Survival to Significance

Lauri Lynne Burns | Founder and CEO of The Teen Project

March 3, 2026 | 5:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m.

In honor of International Women’s Day, Lauri Lynne Burns shares a powerful story of transformation—from surviving abuse, homelessness, and exploitation to building systems that have rescued and restored the lives of thousands of young women.

Aligned with Esri’s theme, “An equal world is an enabled world,” Lauri shares how trauma does not have to define a woman’s destination. Through lived experience, social innovation, and technology, including the development of platforms that connect vulnerable people to safe housing and treatment, she demonstrates how one life, when reclaimed, can redraw the map for countless others.

This story is about resilience, forgiveness, leadership, and data with heart. Through storytelling, social entrepreneurship, and bold action, Lauri demonstrates what’s possible when women reclaim their voices—and how those voices don’t just change lives, they change the map.
