Places Data

Find the points of interest and places that matter most to you

Better understand how the physical and social worlds interact

Key to location analysis, Esri’s Places data portfolio provides distinct geographic references, including point of interest (POI) data, building footprints, and boundaries. This data can help you understand what attracts people to a location.

Search for a destination

If you are interested in a particular location or landmark, you can find places by name or category through an interactive search.

Places data includes millions of points of interest (POIs) for restaurants, parks, hospitals, retail stores, and more across the globe.

Understand geographic proximity

Create a list of nearby places based on location and type. Consider customers and prospects, competitors, distribution sites, and facilities for visualization and analysis.

Conduct GIS-powered analysis with Places data to answer questions such as:

  • Where are my potential customers, competitors, suppliers and distributors?
  • How many businesses will be impacted by a proposed housing project?

Design routes by places

Incorporate a list of stops along your journey. Inform your route directions with landmarks to assist in navigation and find other relevant places or points of interest.

Places data can include rich attributes such as hours of operation, category, and other metadata to enhance your geographic analysis, further enriching insights and routes.
