ArcView Business Analyst 2 Now Shipping

 
The gravity model measures predicted sales for a new store location based on user-defined criteria and the competition around the new store location.

ArcView Business Analyst 2 is a powerful tool for making better Business decisions and combines the full functionality of Esri's popular ArcView software with intuitive data analysis tools and a robust catalog of the most up-to-date Business, demographic, and household data available for the United States. New functionality in ArcView Business Analyst 2 includes finding new store locations similar to that of a company's best store, using spatial overlay to get more accurate demographic information around a store, creating gravity models to see how well new sites will perform given the competition, and more. New report templates to help Businesses improve their productivity are also included.

Out of the box, ArcView Business Analyst 2 includes all the data and tools that help Businesses leverage information in a new way by integrating data, applying sophisticated spatial analysis, and viewing results on a map.

Data

  • Census Data--Census 2000 data; 1990, 2000, and 2001 estimates; and 2006 projections. This data set helps you perform competitive, trend, and market penetration analyses.
  • Business Data--A national database of more than 11 million U.S. Businesses from infoUSA, Inc., from which you can choose by industry, sales volume, geography, and more.
  • Shopping Center Data--National Research Bureau information on nearly 39,000 shopping centers across the United States.
  • Experian Household Consumer File--Current-year national consumer database of more than 105 million households with more than 28 household attributes including age, gender, income, and more.
  • Street Information--Nationwide street database in ArcView StreetMap using data from Geographic Data Technology, Inc. (GDT).
  • Demographic Information--Users can choose from two data providers for nationwide demographic information: Esri Business Information Solutions and Applied Geographic Solutions, Inc.

The Find Similar application uses demographic drivers around best established store to identify how proposed new store locations match your best store location.
