Federal GIS Scholarship |

The University of Redlands invites applications from qualified U.S. federal government employees wishing to participate in its 11-month Master of Science in GIS program. Under this one-time U.S. Federal Scholarship program, qualified applicants for the September 2002 and January 2003 programs are eligible for full or partial tuition scholarships. This M.S. in GIS program is designed to produce GIS practitioners who have a comprehensive understanding of geographic information science fundamentals and are capable of taking active leadership roles in GIS projects and GIS technology management. Participants in this program will complete the regular M.S. in GIS course work at the University and participate in GIS projects relevant to their agencies in association with Esri and the University's research and development center. Applications must be received by June 30 for the January 2003 program. Due to the limited number of scholarships available, this program will be highly competitive. Applicants must show that participation in the program will enhance their current career path. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate that their M.S. in GIS experience will be used to support related technology transfer activities within their agencies, and who receive partial support for their participation in this program from their agencies. More information about the M.S. in GIS program and this scholarship opportunity is available on the Web at www.institute.redlands.edu/msgis. |
