Esri European User Conference 2003

The motto for this year's Esri European User Conference is "gis@work" to emphasize that GIS is now being used as a mature technology in many Business processes. It not only helps organizations make better decisions, it also helps these organizations work more efficiently. Return on Investment (ROI) is a term often heard these days, and GIS can deliver this by providing more structure in databases and using metadata to explore and use this data. Internet and Intranet communication can now easily reach management with data, applications, and decisions. The Esri European User Conference will emphasize these advantages of GIS.

As in recent years, users from Africa and the Middle East are invited to attend.

Innsbruck, Austria, was chosen as the conference site because of its wonderful location in the heart of the Alps and because it provides a community atmosphere. The conference center is located in the city center, within walking distance of most hotels and tourist highlights.

The conference will be held in both the English and German languages. All keynote addresses will be in English while product presentations and technical workshops will be given in both languages. Some paper sessions will only be in German.

Wednesday, October 8, 2003, will be the opening day with keynote addresses and plenary presentations. The following two days will be filled with paper sessions, product presentations, and technical workshops. Beginning Wednesday evening, there will be an exhibition that will feature many Esri Business Partners.
