6th Annual Esri Middle East and Africa User Conference

From October 8-10, 2002, the 6th Annual Esri Middle East and Africa (MEA) User Conference was held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai. More than 550 GIS professionals gathered, outlining the primary theme of the conference-the need to unite and share information in order to advance GIS in the region. Mohamed Abuziad, managing director for Esri regional distributor GISTEC, introduced Jack Dangermond, Esri's president, who underscored the emphasis on sharing and communication. Indeed, the entire conference was marked by the spirit of sharing as GIS experts and peers met together and shared experiences as well as meeting Esri staff, exhibitors, and Business Partners. 11th Annual Esri and ERDAS User Conference in Czech Republic

Almost 400 people attended the annual conference of Czech Esri and ERDAS users, which was held at Prague Congress Centre, October 24-25, 2002. It was organized by ARCDATA PRAHA, s.r.o.-the official Esri and ERDAS distributor in the Czech Republic-and sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Leica Geosystems, as well as publisher CCB. GIS and information technology Business partners exhibited while Esri and ERDAS users showed off their posters. Petr Seidl, director of ARCDATA Praha, began the conference by discussing GIS in emergency management. Both days were packed with demonstrations, workshops, and presentations.
