Intelligent Enterprise Readers Vote Esri "Best GIS" |
|
|
For the second year in a row, Esri received Best GIS honors in CMP Media's Intelligent Enterprise Readers' Choice Awards. Participants from the magazine's 80,000 subscribers voted this year in 39 categories for best IT products in strategic business applications. Intelligent Enterprise magazine informs readers on how technologies can work together to form the strategic applications vital to their businesses. The publication provides information on content and business process management to address the questions that business application strategists face every day. Subscribers include CEOs, CIOs, top application development managers, and data management and business intelligence decision makers. This year's contest design addressed the possibility that blanket corporate software purchasing policies might influence voters' exposure to different products. Ballots asked participants how many products in each competing category they had used in the past two years. Because only the votes of those who tried two or more of any given product type were considered, results more closely represent voters' choices among products they recently used and compared. "It is gratifying to be honored by our users and Intelligent Enterprise readers," says Esri president Jack Dangermond. "This kind of support from the business community reflects growing recognition of GIS as a management tool that helps organizations improve performance with better information and integration of complex data." "Commercial enterprises and government agencies alike are developing important new applications for geospatial information," says Doug Henschen, editor, Intelligent Enterprise, "and these uses are improving everything from customer service and profitability to constituent services and emergency response. Each year, we poll our readers to find out which vendors are most deserving of praise in a variety of technology categories, and for the second year in a row, they've declared that Esri offers the best GIS. We congratulate Esri on this achievement." The Intelligent Enterprise magazine is dedicated to helping organizations plan and deploy strategic business applications that turn information into intelligence. Intelligent Enterprise empowers business application strategists charged with unlocking the value of strategic information and setting, managing, and running their enterprise business processes to provide collaborative information delivery that drives strategic decision making. In addition to its hard-copy circulation, Intelligent Enterprise is on the Web at www.intelligententerprise.com providing the latest news and information along with several vertical channels and information centers. |
