Description:
The Palace, Museum and National Estate of Versailles (EPV), one of the world’s most prestigious cultural heritage sites, selected arx iT to design and implement an Enterprise GIS platform supporting the management, preservation and understanding of its exceptional historical estate. Based on Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, the solution centralizes and integrates geospatial data from multiple sources and provides web maps, GIS web services and dedicated applications for managing the nearly 2,000-acre estate, its 120 buildings, gardens, infrastructure and historical assets. arx iT designed the GIS architecture, integrated existing datasets and contributed to the creation of a detailed authoritative basemap combining current geospatial information with historical cartographic archives. Two major Web GIS applications support both operational management and heritage knowledge. The internal GIS provides detailed information on buildings, gardens, pathways, sculptures, equipment and other assets to support maintenance and restoration activities. “Si Versailles m’était tracé” combines current aerial imagery with 14 georeferenced historical maps dating back to 1699, supporting historical research, architectural studies, archaeology and reconstruction. This prestigious project demonstrates arx iT’s expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, Enterprise GIS, heritage and asset management, historical GIS, geospatial data integration, Web GIS and the implementation of mission-critical geospatial platforms for complex cultural heritage sites.
