First released in 2004, Dig-Smart Enterprise is decision support software designed to manage the one call ticket management and underground excavation process for any utility company. Working within the highly regulated industry known worldwide as Call/Dial Before Your Dig (and 811 in the United States), Dig-Smart Enterprise leverages the utility’s own GIS to map the location of each underground excavation request. Using server-side software, Dig-Smart Enterprise can connect to any US, Canadian or Australian based one call center and receive tickets into a local or cloud SQL database. Once saved as a record-of-file, Dig-Smart leverages the spatial data warehouse via ArcGIS Desktop and integrates the stored ticket database to create a seamless analytical environment for ticket review. During the decision process, end users are provided with an ArcMap tool called Dig-Smart Analyzer to make heads-up decisions based on the overlay of data in relationship to the ticket description provided by the call center. Asset management integration, mobile field integration and mobile email are all supported methods of assigning tickets to mobile locators.
