geoPEN allows users to transfer field notes into a GIS layer. Our software is meant for those that print maps off, take them to the field for redlining and then update their GIS by adding new features. geoPEN is a software that resides in a smart pen. After printing maps out of ArcMap using our custom plug-in, the software captures field notes and audio recordings as a shapefile that can then be brought back into ArcMap via USB.
